Min Ko Naing, a student activist leader, stands outside head office of the Myanmar's democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi's National League for Democracy party in Yangon, Myanmar. A Myanmar official says authorities have begun transferring some political prisoners from remote jails to facilities closer to their families in a move that may presage the release of other detainees. The Home Ministry official says the transfers began Wednesday and included some high-profile prisoners including student activist leader Min Ko Naing.
