Lion Dance Competition

On Sint Ohn Dan Street in Yangon’s China town, during the week of the Chinese Lunar New Year, the streets are packed each evening with crowds gathered to watch the annual lion dance competition. Local teams play loud, rhythmic music and two team members inside the lion costume perform incredible feats of syncronized agility, hopping and dancing along the top of a series of poles in the middle of the street.
